Fil Aquino
Fil Aquino began a lifelong love with nature at an early age. He soon learned he could combine this love with his natural artistic abilities by making the world come to life on canvas. After earning a fine arts degree from Virginia Commonwealth University, he has gone on to exhibit his work in numerous Fine Art shows throughout Virginia. In 1989, with the desire to continually grow and challenge himself as an artist, he began painting on wood, enhancing the natural beauty of its’ surface with breathtaking wildlife, landscape and still life images.
He uses oil or acrylic paint and stained pinewood and oak ply to create his popular fireplace and dividing screen pieces. Fil describes these works as “functional art” because, in addition to serving a functional purpose, each one is an original painting. He has also created and produced large scale Wall Triptych paintings. His line of Oriental Landscapes has captured many rave reviews and awards. Fil has also been commissioned to paint several Murals for homes and businesses in central Va. His painting styles is very diverse to meet any ideas you require of him.
Other sources of inspiration for the talented artist include his wife, Dawn and their two sons, Anthony and Cameron. Fil and his family currently reside in Chester, Virginia.
